Pastor Geoff preaches Luke 11:5-8 at the Grace Bible Conference hosted by Rockport Baptist Church in Arnold, MO.
This message centers on the theme of shepherding one another through persistently praying to God. Pastors, fathers, husbands, and leaders must remember to shepherd one another through persistently praying for one another.
Let us remember the power of persistent praying.
"The Persistence in Prayer -- Shameless Boldness in Coming Before God!"
Pastor Geoff preaches on the section in Luke 11 where Jesus teaches His followers to be importunate (persistent) in prayer. Like Jacob, we should wrestle with God until He blesses us. Like the Syro-Phoenecian woman, we must humbly bow and beg God till He listens and answers. Like Elijah, we should pray earnestly and expectantly till God fulfills His promises. Like blind Bartimaeus, we should cry out (and cry out louder) until the Lord stops, hears us, and answers our plea.
We must urgently come to God and press our longings upon His heart until He answers us! Let us not grow discouraged or fainthearted. But let us be a people who pray with persistence!
Pastor Geoff preaches an expository sermon through Isaiah 50 -- one of the "Servant Songs." This is speaking of Jesus the Servant-Messiah.
In this chapter we see the active righteousness, the perfect righteousness of Your Savior. We see your Savior's
Thanks be to God for the active, perfect obedience of Jesus Christ reckoned to us by faith alone (2 Cor 5.21)
Pastor Geoff preaches an expository sermon through Mark 12 (and Matt 21) on the parable of the vineyard.
Here we see judgment on the corrupt, vile, wicked leaders of Israel.
This account shows us:
1. The understandable story (1-9)
2. The unsurpassed Savior (10-11)
3. The unexpected shift (Matt 21.43)
4. The ultimate Sentence (Matt 21.44, 45-46)
Look to Christ! Respect the Beloved Son of God! He is worthy of worship!
"The Parable of the Soils: How Do You Hear God's Word?"
Pastor Geoff Kirkland preaches Mark 4:1-20 on the well-known parable of the soils. The key to this parable is: "How do you hear God's Word?" Or, what do you do with what you've heard? How does it change you?
1. The Parable
2. The Principle
4 kinds of hearers of the word (the first 3 are lost & unconverted & only the last one is truly saved)
May God help you -- and me -- to be hearers of the Word rightly. One sermon rightly heard & applied is better than hearing 100 sermons with no application.
May God help us!
"The Parable of the Lost Sheep: The Happy Joy of God in the Salvation of Sinners!"
Pastor Geoff teaches on the parable of the 'lost sheep' -- and shows how this is an indictment against the Jewish leadership of the day since they couldn't be further from the heart of God that rejoices when God's people are saved in Christ.
But it also shows the great joy that God has when He seeks and saves His lost ones!
"The Panoramic View of the Christmas Story: Look & Wonder at Christ!"
Pastor Geoff preaches the gospel of salvation from 1 John 3 in showing the wide-angle, panoramic portrait of the Christmas story. From humanity's perilous condition of lawlessness, to Christ's coming as a human, sinless man, to His death on the cross in 'taking away sin', to His soon-coming again in power & glory, Pastor Geoff preaches 4 headings in this panoramic view of the Christmas story.
Pastor Geoff preaches at the homeless shelter in downtown St Louis, Missouri. He preaches on the exceeding and overwhelming love of God.
1. exceeding love
2. distinguishing love
3. glorifying love
4. purifying love
Pastor Geoff preaches Habakkuk 2:4 on "The just will live by his faith" and then moves to Galatians 3:10-14 and shows how sinners can be justified before God by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone.
This message speaks about the meaning of faith, the sufficiency of Christ, the exclusivity of Christ, and the perfection of Christ's sacrifice.
This sermon was preached as a preparation for the Lord's Supper.
"The Omniscience of Jesus Christ at Samaria's Well!"
Pastor Geoff preaches on the occasion of Jesus meeting the Samarian Woman at the well. In this moment, the Spirit of God allows and directs Jesus to know the woman's past. And here we see a glimpse into the omniscience of God, namely, the omniscience of Jesus Christ in this event.
In this "Shepherd's Moment of Equipping," Pastor Geoff equips the CFBC flock on what the Bible says about homosexuality -- behavior and desires -- from the Old Testament. This teaching provides clear exposition, word studies, and hope found in Jesus Christ alone.
1. the beautiful PLAN OF GOD (=marriage)
2. the blasphemous PERVERSION AGAINST GOD (=homosexuality)
3. the beautiful PICTURE OF MARRIAGE (=a pointer to the union between Jesus Christ and His Bride, the Church)
"The Offices of Christ: Christ as Priest - Your Pure, Perfect Priest!"
This is part 2 of the series on the "Offices of Jesus Christ" -- this sermon covers Christ as your Priest. The sermon covers Jesus as your:
1. permanent priest
2. propitiating priest
3. praying priest
4. pure priest
5. perfect priest
6. preeminent priest
Pastor Geoff preaches on the active obedience of Jesus Christ as he submitted to the Father & obeyed the Law in 2 specific ways in this text:
1. He obeyed in His circumcision
2. He obeyed in His consecration
In the piety of His parents, the Lord Jesus obeyed the Law and fulfilled all righteousness. He was born under the Law to redeem those under the Law.
And all of His righteousness is credited to the believer's account through faith at the moment of salvation.
Pastor Geoff concludes a two-year expositional series through the Book of Revelation with the men at the homeless shelter in downtown St Louis, Missouri.
In talking about the NEW HEAVENS AND THE NEW EARTH, he mentions:
1. the COMING of the new heavens & the new earth
2. the CITIZENS of the new heavens & the new earth
3. the CITY of the new heavens & the new earth
4. the CENTERPOINT of the new heavens & the new earth
5. the CLIMATE/CULTURE of the new heavens & the new earth
"The New Heavens & the New Earth: The Eternal Joy of the Redeemed!"
