In this sermon, Pastor Geoff proclaims the Word from Joshua 22 when the 2 1/2 tribes return home and construct an altar. The other tribes in the Promised Land see it and rise up with great zeal to wage war against the seemingly-apostate tribes.
What happens? How is civil war averted? What can we learn? How do we see the good and the bad lessons to learn from?
Pastor Geoff proclaims the dire need for revival in our land. But it's not just for the pagans out there but the church of God needs to be revived. Revival begins with the people of God.
Pastor Geoff shows that from Psalm 80 revival comes to God's people and then through the powerful witness and relentless urgency of the believers, God uses His Word as it goes forth to bring revival across the land.
Let us pray for and earnestly plead God that He would bring a true-Spirit-given revival.
Pastor Geoff open-air preaches at the St Louis Central West End Metrolink station and heralds Jeremiah 14:10. The major points are that God knows all things (including our hearts), that we are all guilty of iniquity, and that God will call every person to account. The only way to be forgiven is through Christ.
Pastor Geoff exposits Isaiah 30. In this long, detailed and very theologically rich chapter, he pulls put three very important lessons for us so we do not trust in the earthly comforts.
1. Refuse worldly securities
2. Receive God's Word
3. Regain Hopeful Perspective
Pastor Geoff continues the verse by verse exposition through 2 John. And in this sermon, Pastor Geoff provides three supremely important imperatives that we draw from verse 8 as John pastorally & urgently pleads with believers to be on guard.
1. Be watchful! (Be on guard!)
2. Be constant! (Don't lose ground!)
3. Be eternal-minded! (Serve Christ for the full reward!)
May the Lord help us to be strong, steadfast, and vigilant in guarding and keeping the Truth!
Pastor Geoff teaches on the believers' use of spiritual gifts. It's not so much how to find your gift and discovering which gift you have as much we find in the New Testament to be (1) involved in your local church, and (2) be obeying the commands given to all believers (=the 'one anothers'), and (3) then seeing how God especially gives you joy in particular areas of service for the edification of the flock.
