Pastor Geoff carefully looks at a number of Scriptures as a number of issues are addressed in this sermon: (1) what does baptism symbolize, (2) who should be baptized, (3) how should people be baptized, (4) what was the pattern in the early church, and (5) is it all that important of a matter anyway?
Listen to and apply this very important message concerning the doctrinal position of baptism at CFBC.
In preparing for two baptisms, Pastor Geoff works through these final verses in the "Sermon on the Mount" as the Lord calls those who listen to His sermon to enter through the narrow gate, to examine their "fruit", and to "listen to and act upon" what He has commanded.
Those who believe and surrender to Christ's Lordship must be baptized.
Pastor Geoff preaches on Philippians 3:7-8 on the verses that Paul says that everything that he had gained (earned) in his own self-righteousness he now considers to be loss -- indeed, he calls it "rubbish/dung!"
There's something far greater that every child of God receives -- the knowledge of Jesus Christ the LORD.
Pastor Geoff preaches Luke 6:43-45 in the final "exhortation" section of Christ's Sermon on the Mount. In this portion of the sermon, he has just pleaded with the crowds to enter through the narrow gate and how he shows them WHY they must do so -- because the heart is the root that brings forth fruit. He shows that one's conduct, thoughts, words, and ways of life all come from the heart.
Listen to this message & examine your own heart & the fruit of your life that reveals what kind of tree you are!
"Every Pastor/Elder Must Be Above Reproach in the Home (Marriage/Parenting)"
Pastor Geoff preaches in the open air during a busy lunch-hour rush in Clayton, Missouri and heralds the text when Jesus passes thru Jericho and comes across the blind man! Jesus has the power to give sight to the blind!
Evangelism IS effective & it is WORTHWHILE and it is worth your time, sacrifice, comfort, energy and resources….
Ezekiel: Then you will know that I am the LORD (judgment Ezek 35 and hope Ezek 36)
**EVANGELISM DOES GLORIFY GOD…
as it FAITHFULLY DECLARES THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL.
as it WATERS THE SEED OF THE GOSPEL IN HEARTS OF GOD’S ELECT
as it BRINGS GOD’S ELECT TO SALVATION AS GOD REGENERATES & THEY REPENT & BELIEVE
as it HARDENS THE REPROBATE AND INCREASES THEIR SIN & CONDEMNATION
as it PROCLAIMS THE ‘NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES’ PUBLICLY
as it OBEYS THE CLEAR COMMAND TO ‘GO AND PROCLAIM REPENTANCE’ (Luke 24)
Pastor Geoff teaches more on a biblical theology evangelism and here discusses how evangelism is related to a correct doctrine of:
- ecclesiology (doctrine of the church)
- eschatology (doctrine of last things)
Pastor Geoff teaches the next section of the 'biblical theology of evangelism' and in this class session, Geoff teaches on the doctrine of soteriology (salvation) and how the work of salvation is ALL of God -- totally, fully from God (from first to last).
The primary text that this class works through is Romans 8:28-30.
Listen to this and let the absolute sovereignty of God fuel your confidence in and desire for evangelism.
"Evangelism Class #5 - Theology of Evangelism (Regeneration)"
Pastor Geoff teaches on 'a theology of evangelism' and covers specifically:
1. anthropology (doctrine of man's depravity & inability)
2. regeneration (the sovereign work of God to give life to a dead soul)
