Pastor Geoff preaches through Isaiah 8 -- how to make your crisis into a sanctuary.
1. you must have the RIGHT TRUST.
2. you must have the RIGHT FEAR.
3. you must have the RIGHT AUTHORITY.
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through the book of Joshua & speaks about how we must kill the sin in our lives. He talks about what sin is, how to find the sin in our lives, why we should kill sin, and how to kill our sin.
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches Titus 1:10ff which fleshes out the reason "WHY" all elder/pastors must hold fast the faithful Word (in v.9). Why must all elders be above reproach and be competent in the Word of God?
Verses 10-16 give 7 urgent and indispensable reasons WHY all elders must be adequate and competent in the Word:
1. because of the abundance of the deceivers (10)
2. because of the danger of their teaching (11)
3. because of the motives of their heart (11-12)
4. because of the necessity of firm reproof (13)
Next time, we will look at Titus 1:14-16 on the other 3 reasons why godly men must be competent and holding fast the Word of God.
