Pastor Geoff pleads with sinners on the streets of ST Louis & shows how sinful all humanity is & how Christ is God's provision to escape punishment for our sin. No one can ward off God's hand.
"No Matter What Comes in Your Life, Pray and Trust in God!"
Pastor Geoff continues the verse-by-verse exposition through Romans 8 and shows why there is 'now no condemnation for those who are in Christ.' There is no condemnation because of the work of the Father, the work of the Son, and the work of the Spirit. Truly this is an eternal salvation!
My role is a SERVANT (of the LORD)
My role is a SHEPHERD (of the FLOCK)
My role is a STUDENT (of the Word)
***I want 5 marks to characterize me as a pastor…
By God’s grace, I want to be...
Faithful (to serve, to remain, to suffer, to continue, to finish well)
Fruitful (fruitful to have many converts; to sanctify many; to see many come to faith NEAR and FAR)
Useful (useful to God as a TOOL IN HIS HAND/ instrument in HIS HAND; Not useless; not profitless; not a hindrance)
Prayerful (prayerful individually, with my family, with my church) — desperately, importunate
Powerful (powerful in my preaching of TRUTH, of CHRIST, of SCRIPTURE, of the GOSPEL) —> powerful b/c of the message!
"My Eyes Have Seen Your Salvation! Beholding the Face of the God-Man!"
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through Luke's gospel and teaches on "Simeon." Simeon was an elderly man waiting for the Messiah to appear. And when God providentially brought Simeon into the Temple to behold the newborn baby, the God-Man, Simeon praised God and gave a prophecy of the future life & work of Jesus. He would, in fact, be the dividing line so that many would receive Him for eternal life & many would reject Him for eternal death.
In this audio-blog, Pastor Geoff elaborates on his sermon preparation routine each week as he prepares full-length expositions for CFBC, for open air preaching, and for men's studies, homeless shelters, and senior living facilities.
In this podcast, Pastor Geoff Kirkland talks about his main commitments:
2. Study of the Word
3. Sober-mindedness (focus, not being discouraged, distracted, deterred, sidetracked)
4. Preaching (in the church for edifying/equipping the saints & on the streets to call the lost to repent & believe)
5. Shepherd the flock
Pastor Geoff begins an expository preaching series through the SONG OF SOLOMON -- actually, it's the Song of all Songs. This is Solomon's Song; the best of the 1,005 songs that he wrote (1 Kings 4:32).
This message provides introductory information -- authorship, theme verse, interpretive method/framework, speakers, themes, etc.
This is a song that Solomon wrote that speaks of the intoxicating and happy joys of marital love between one man and one woman. It extols exclusive, heterosexual, God-glorifying, and delightful blessings that come with human love.
At the same time, human love in marriage is a mystery -- that points to something bigger & greater -- the love of Jesus Christ for His Bride, the Church.
Listen to this message as we journey through Song of Solomon chapter 1 together.
