How do you respond when people verbally attack you? When people speak about you behind your back or verbally attack you to your face? We can learn from David how he trusted in the LORD for his strength & deliverance.
In this sermon, Geoff exposits Psalm 34 and shows how the historical setting is the provision of God in sparing David's life while at Gath (1 Sam 21) and the psalm, thus, provides 4 ways to respond to God's great provisions.
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff concludes the exposition through the book of Revelation & he calls the men to RESPOND to the book! He provides 4 ways that they should respond to the book of Revelation -- and all of God's revelation (by application).
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches Titus 3.3 and shows the doctrine of radical -- pervasive -- depravity. This is who we "ONCE" were BEFORE God saved us. We are to remember this so that it increases our awe, wonder, and joy in the glory of Grace in the Gospel!
"Remember Your God! Lessons from Damascus & Israel"
Pastor Geoff proclaims the gospel of Jesus Christ on the St Louis Community College Meramec Campus as the students walk to class. He heralds Ecclesiastes 12.1 — remember your creator in the days of your youth.
May God save many young people & snatch them from the fires & use them for His glory & His purposes in furthering the gospel!
"Remember What God Has Done & Teach Them to Fear God!"
In Joshua 4, God has just led His people Israel across the Jordan River miraculously on dry ground. Now God commands them to take 12 stones to set up a "memorial" at the place they are to lodge that evening.
The purpose for these memorial stones, according to Joshua 4, is so that the parents can instruct their children as to the works and ways of God and call them to fear the Lord and follow Him!
Pastor Geoff preaches on the 5 disadvantages of every Gentile (non-Jew) before God saved him. What were you like? What condition were you in? What was your condition? But v.13 provides the hope that GOD drew sinners near to Himself through the blood of Christ!
"Rejoicing in Suffering Knowing Everything Will Work for Your Deliverance!"
Pastor Geoff Kirkland continues the exposition through Philippians and shows how Paul has the all-consuming ambition to 'magnify Christ in his body.'
He provides 3 ways that he can rejoice -- even in his suffering -- because he knows ALL things will turn out for his deliverance...
1. through the prayers of the saints
2. through the provision of the Spirit
3. through the priority of magnifying Christ
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff teaches on the meaning of joy, how we get joy, and how to cultivate joy in our lives!
Biblical joy is a settled confidence that God gives to believers that He is sovereignly in control.
True joy is independent of circumstances. In hardships, we can still be joyful because our joy is dependent on God and His unchanging character, not ourselves and our changing circumstances.
Pastor Geoff preaches through Luke 10:17-24 -- the return of the 70 after they fulfilled their evangelistic mission. And Christ reminds them not to rejoice in temporary results in ministry but ultimately to find their ground for rejoicing in the unchangeable and eternal reality that their names are 'recorded in heaven'.
This is the surest ground for joy in the Christian's life -- that one's POSITION before God (=name in heaven) is the foundation for joy that catapults my PRACTICE (=serving Christ in ministry) for His glory.
In this sermon there are 2 main causes for joy that are presented:
1. Rejoice that your names are eternally recorded in heaven!
2. Rejoice that your salvation is sovereignly given by Christ!
