Pastor Geoff preaches Psalm 93 in the open air in St Louis, MO and heralds the truth about the One, True God. The reality that God is the sovereign, unrivaled King must be understood & proclaimed!
This message reveals God & calls sinners to embrace Him through faith in Christ for the forgiveness of their sin.
"The Above-Reproach Elder In His Heart, Pt 2: Virtues He Must Possess"
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff exposits word-by-word the text of Titus 1.8 -- the above reproach elder must meet the following qualifications.
We've seen that he must be ABOVE REPROACH in his HOME (marriage/purity and in his parenting/home life). And now he must be ABOVE REPROACH in his HEART (v.7 was the sins to avoid) and now in v.8 we see the virtues that he must possess.
2. loving what is good
6. self controlled
Listen as Pastor Geoff expounds each of these and pleads for God to raise up men of God in local churches who meet these requirements.
This message covers Revelation 16 -- the chapter that speaks to the seven bowl (vial) judgments that God will dispense near the end of the future, seven-year Tribulation period.
These are some of the most global, widespread, and devastating plagues that the world has ever seen!
It paves the way for the 2nd advent of Jesus Christ (Rev 19:11ff).
All those who repent and trust in Christ alone, however, are absolutely saved from the wrath of God (1 Thess 1:9-10; 1 Thess 5:9). Christ promises to keep His church out of the hour of trial that will come upon the world (Rev 3:10)!
Take comfort, be courageous & share the gospel with the lost!
In this message, Pastor Geoff works through Revelation 7 and shows how God will save people during the future time of "Great Tribulation" -- the time of Jacob's Trouble (the 70th week of Daniel):
1) 144,000 ethnic, Jewish people
2. A great multitude from every nation, tribe, tongue, and people (Gentiles)
In this section, we learn that God will pour out saving mercy on many even in the midst of future trouble on earth. And we see that God is not through with the nation of Israel yet. Has God rejected His people (Israel), has he? By no means!
Pastor Geoff preaches this Thanksgiving Service message at CFBC and provides, perhaps, a fresh insight for the people of God to specifically give thanks to God. Indeed, the Triune God -- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- has gloriously condescended & humbly chosen to reside in believers!
Be thankful that GOD THE SPIRIT dwells in you.
Be thankful that GOD THE SON dwells in you.
Be thankful that GOD THE FATHER dwells in you.
"Thank God for His Work in Your Salvation: From Beginning to End!"
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition thru Philippians and shows how this section (vv.3-8) deals with Paul speaking of WHY he prays for the Philippian believers. He gives thanks to God for them (v.3).
Verse 6 is a triumphant theological reality but it's inseparably linked to prayer.
This verse teaches us 3 reasons why Paul gives thanks...
1. Your salvation STARTED WITH GOD.
2. Your salvation IS SUSTAINED BY GOD.
3. Your salvation IS SECURE IN GOD.
Geoff preaches Psalm 107 and exhorts us to give thanks to the LORD for His lovingkindness. The psalm calls us to cry out to God and He will hear and deliver us from our distresses. Hear this practical exposition from this lengthy and timely psalm.
In this psalm, Pastor Geoff preaches on the justice of God that constantly evidences itself in the sovereign reign of God. True believers can pray, praise, exult, and live with confident trust in God because He will judge all the rebellious nations in righteousness.
In this study, Pastor Geoff preaches Psalm 78 and shows how God commands His people to take divine truth (and divine history) and pass it along to the generation to come & tell them to put their confidence in God.
If we don't learn from the past unfaithfulness of Israel, then we are certain to repeat it! Let us learn from the past, instruct the coming generation and walk in holiness!
"Teaching On the End-Times: The Beginning of the Tribulation, Birth Pains"
This sermon is part 2 on the study of the "Parable of the Soils."
Part 1 covered the overview of the parable, what parables are, why Jesus spoke in parables, and the first two soils -- the seed cast on the road and the seed cast on the rocky soil.
Part 2, in this message, covers the final two soils: the thorny soil and the good soil.
Take note that 3 of the 4 kinds of hearers of God's Word do not persevere and have no lasting fruit and are thus unconverted. Only 1 of the 4 soils that our Lord speaks about truly are converted.
Take care how you listen! He who has an ear, let him hear!
Examine yourself as you hear our Lord's teaching and make certain that you are in faith!
"Take Care How You Listen! Are You Saved? The Parable of the Soils, Part 1"
Pastor Geoff preaches on the parable of the soils. The Lord Jesus, at a very important turning point in his public ministry, began teaching in parables to conceal spiritual truth from the masses who have rejected Him.
In this parable, Jesus tells of the seed of the Word which goes forth & there are four kinds of soils (=hearers). Three of them are unconverted while only one of them is truly saved.
This message journeys through the text and looks at it under four headings.
"Take Care How You Listen To and Apply Every Sermon!"
Pastor Geoff preaches James 1:19-25 on how believers must respond to God's Word. In this message, specifically, Pastor Geoff provides 3 helps for us to take care how we listen to & apply every sermon.
BEFORE the sermon = PREPARE
DURING the sermon = PERSEVERE
AFTER the sermon = PRACTICE
May God's truth burn deeply into our souls that we would be hearers and doers of the Word!
