In this sermon, Pastor Geoff works through Luke 10 and shows how Christ sent his followers out to saturate the land with the gospel and he provides some helpful principles that we can apply from this narrative passage.
Listen to and apply this encouraging message.
"Work Hard, with Joy in God, as Under the Eye of God!"
Isaiah 31 is a prophet "woe" oracle on the people of Judah because of their willful determination to NOT trust Yahweh but rather to seek Egypt's help.
This chapter can be summarized in 4 words:
Pastor Geoff preaches on Amos 3 and reminds us that with great privilege comes great responsibility. As God's chosen people, Israel was not exempt from God's punishment because of their sin. And the situation is the same with us today. He talked about living wholeheartedly for God, walking in a way that proclaims the gospel in everything we do, and striving to fulfill our responsibility that God gave. To whom much is given, much is required.
"Wisdom Shouts To You: 'Repent Or You'll Be Violently Destroyed'!"
In this sermon, God personifies wisdom as a street preacher who calls out to the multitudes of people passing by (the naive, the fools, the scoffers) and pleads with great urgency & severity:
1. Wisdom HERALDS, so Listen (20-22)
2. Wisdom PLEADS, so Repent (23)
3. Wisdom WARNS, so Fear (24-33)
"Wisdom Is What You Need For Life! 6 Fatherly Imperatives!"
Pastor Geoff exposits Proverbs 3:1-12 and proclaims these "fatherly imperatives" as we see God's "Truth for Youth" in this profound section of wisdom literature.
The 6 fatherly imperatives for us are:
1. Treasure God's Word
2. Emulate your God
3. Trust your God
4. Live with humility
5. Give with generosity
6. Embrace God's discipline
"Will Your Works Damn You At the Great White Throne Judgment?"
Pastor Geoff open air preaches at the Metrolink station in St Louis (Central West End) and shows the testimonies of (1) John (2) Jesus' works and (3) the Father's witness are reasons why sinners must believe in Jesus Christ & follow Him.
Pastor Geoff provides reasons why it is best -- over the long haul -- to preach through Books of the Bible verse by verse...
1) give the entirety of the Word to the people
2) preach all the doctrines
3) it's the way God communicated -- whole books
4) it helps the congregation as they know the context week by week
5) it aids the preacher as he studies & knows the background
6) it helps the congregation prepare for what's coming next week
7) God providentially brings Scriptures at the right time for the church-life & the lives of your people
"Why We Need Revival & Must Pray Desperately For It!"
In this audio blog, pastor Geoff provides the plea that we desperately need revival in our day. And furthermore, he shows why we should pray for revival. Finally, he concludes that God uses certain means whereby He brings revival to His people.
We need to pray for revival...
1. for the sake of God
2. for the sake of the Church
3. for the sake of the lost
4. for the sake of the gospel
5. for the sake of eternity
Let us call on God & take hold of God that He might rend the heavens and come down with mighty power upon us!
"Why We Must Preach Truth Regarding Eternal Danger of Homosexuality & Gay-Christians"
WHY WE MUST PREACH WHAT *GOD* SAYS REGARDING THE SIN & ETERNAL DANGER OF THE SIN OF HOMOSEXUALITY & SAME-SEX ATTRACTION:
We must preach the truth for the following reasons...
Because GOD HAS SPOKEN
Because HELL IS HOT
Because SALVATION IS AVAILABLE
Because REGENERATION IS SUPERNATURAL
Because SINNERS NEED TRUTH
Because HOLINESS IS NECESSARY
Because DECEPTION IS RAMPANT
Because PLEASING GOD IS PRIORITY
