Tommy Titcombe went to the Yagba people of Nigeria in the 20th century.
it was said of him: “He had his bible with him constantly. with passages from Isaaiha nd the Psalms well marked. His Bible was his constant companion; It was beside whatever chair he sat in, it was with him at his bestie, in the Cara nd everywhere he went.
He was a small man, but he had mountains of faith.”
Geoff preaches from Hebrews 12:14 and other relevant texts and proclaims that true holiness should be the fruit of regenerated people. In looking at Matthew 7, 1 Peter 1, Leviticus 11, James 2, 2 Peter 3 and 1 John 2 and 3, Geoff exhorts the listener to genuine contentment and satisfaction in Christ which will then result in holy living and Godly fruit.
"Hear the Call to Know the Greatness and Nearness of God"
Geoff preaches and exhorts everyone to hear the Word of the LORD that Amos gave to Israel, namely, to return to the LORD God. If sinners to not repent and come to Christ they must "prepare to meet their God" in judgment. But at the present, God, in his infinite grace and compassion, allows sinners to repent and believe in Christ and prepare now to meet their God in the future. He exhorts the people to believe and cling to Christ!
"Hear This Word: 'Seek the LORD That You May Live!'"
Geoff preaches Amos 5 and exhorts everyone with the repeated phrase: Seek the LORD that you may live! This was the message God gave Amos to preach to Israel. They had rejected Yahweh, turned their backs against Him, spurned Him, and committed idolatry and the solution is for them to seek the LORD and live. Geoff exposits this text of Scripture and clearly applies it to the present day and age.
"Hear This! Those Who Trust in the LORD Are Secure!"
In this message, Pastor Geoff continues the exposition preaching through the Book of Psalms and he heralds this glorious chapter on the confidence that God provides to those who trust in Him.
God protects His people like the mountains that surround Zion. He goes before them, behind them, and the righteous ones endure forevermore!
The need is for us as the people of God to trust in our God, to rely on Him, to believe in Him. To trust God is the total casting of the total self upon a triumphant Savior. Psalm 125 describes God's great promises of protection for His people.
