Pastor Geoff continues the series on the "Kingship Psalms" (Pss 93-100) and here preaches Psalm 96 and shows how the absolute sovereignty of God fuels and encourages fervent evangelism and missions.
The Lord indeed reigns over all the earth.
This psalm helps us form a proper understanding of worship, of the sovereignty of God, and of world missions.
Pastor Geoff talks about "Seasonal Depression" or "Seasonal Affective Disorder" (SAD).
What is it? What does the Bible say about how believers can cope through it and find hope in God while in it?
What can we do? Is there any hope available?
Pastor Geoff takes us to the Word & then provides 5 concluding words of exhortation to those battling SAD:
In the *SAD* seasons...
Focus on God's UNCHANGING attributes
Prioritize the Daily STUDY of Scripture
Involve yourself in REGULAR church gatherings
Journal How you RESPOND in times of struggle
Anticipate future HEAVEN that's soon-coming
"See God's Glory Revealed: in the Skies, the Scriptures & the Son!"
This sermon teaches about the idolatry of Israel as Jerusalem as personified as a harlot. The end of the chapter, however, reveals the glorious forgiveness of God as he promises to "atone" for sins.
"See How the Power of God is Displayed in a Weak Sinner"
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches on four ways that the grace of God is revealed in Joshua 8. After Achan's sin is exposed in Joshua 7, God displays His amazing grace in this marvelous chapter.
Listen to this exposition of Joshua 8 and be a doer of the Word — not just a hearer only
"See the God of Worship! Worship the God Worthy of Worship!"
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff begins a bible study series on Worship during the Family Bible Hour and he provides 12 descriptions of God from Revelation 4. This lays the foundation for worship — a proper understanding of WHO God is.
Listen to & apply this sermon!
"See the Judgment of God & the Restoration of His People!"
Amos 9 reveals a final summation of God's case against Israel. God reveals that He will severely judge them because of their sin—but yet he will not completely destroy them. The the last part of the chapter speaks of God's literal fulfillment of the OT promises in the physical, earthly Kingdom where the Messiah will reign with His people in their land in a time of peace & prosperity. Pastor Geoff preaches on what the Millennium is all about and why you should be excited about it.
"See the Majestic One Worthy of Worship in Heaven!"
Geoff preaches Revelation 4 and shows that the most emphasized element of heaven's worship in this portion of Scripture is the throne which takes front and center — and not only the throne but the Sovereign One who sits on the throne. He is worthy of our worship, adoration, & praise!
"See What You Deserve and Receive God's Free Pardon!"
Pastor Geoff continues the sermon series thru the Book of Psalms. Psalms 127 & 128 are twins as they deal with domestic issues.
Psalm 127 shows that the Godly home depends upon God and His blessing in all matters of life -- especially child-rearing.
Psalm 128 shows that the blessing of God falls upon the home that fears the LORD & walks in His ways.
Psalm 127 looks at the need to depend on God and especially the need to recover a biblical ATTITUDE toward children, biblical ACTIONS toward our children, and biblical INFLUENCE over our children.
Listen to this message & what it means that children are our "arrows".
"Seize Upon All the Benefits of the Protection of God's Wisdom!"
Pastor Geoff preaches the gospel of the Cross on the streets of St Louis, MO and talks about what it means that Jesus was forsaken by the Father on Calvary when the Father crushed Him as Christ bore our curse.
Pastor Geoff teaches that one of the greatest ways that young boys and girls can show spiritual fruit as they trust in Christ is specifically related to how they obey and honor their parents.
So, children, for the welfare of your soul, for the joy of your heart, and for the glory of God: honor your parents!
"Sermon Listening: Helps on How to Listen & Benefit from the Preached Word!"
Pastor Geoff works on the fundamentals of *preparation* in the study before one gets to the pulpit. This study works through the importance of hermeneutics, the meaning of the text, prayer, self-discipline, etc.
