Pastor Geoff provides a brief podcast about congregational singing and picking theologically rich, theo-centric hymns.
It MODELS (for next generation/kids)
It PREPARES (for heaven/heavenly worship)
It EXALTS (focuses on God/not man)
"A Parable of the Wicked Vine-Growers & Sending of the Beloved Son!"
Pastor Geoff preaches on the story (parable) of the wicked vine-growers who worked the owner's vineyard and mistreated the slaves he repeatedly sent over and over and over. All this symbolized the history of Israel and their rejection of God and of His Beloved Son, Jesus the Messiah.
See the story about Israel
See the prophecy about Christ
See the judgment on unbelievers
Be warned! Don't trip over this Stone who is Christ and be judged! Don't let Him fall on you in utter judgment & irresistible wrath! Come to Christ, the Beloved Son and know Him as Savior!
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches that every pastor/elder must be ABOVE REPROACH in the heart. Titus 1:7 deals with the SIN-VICES that the man of God MUST avoid. These must *not* describe the man of God who serves in ministry.
"A Pastor: A Defender and a Declarer of the Truth!"
Pastor Geoff teaches on the biblical discipline of hospitality. The Lord gives us clear instructions in the Word to pursue and practice hospitality. This should be evident in the lives of believers and should be a regular practice in the life of a local church.
In this message, Pastor Geoff provides many Scriptures that support the duty of hospitality and he also provides many blessings that come from hospitality. He also answers a handful of objections that many may raise regarding this.
Listen to this plea to practice hospitality!
"A Portrait of Selfless Faithfulness: Learning from Timothy"
Pastor Geoff teaches through Philippians 2:19-24 where Paul wishes to send Timothy, his trusted and faithful ministry companion, to the Philippians to encourage them and bring a report back to Paul in Rome.
Here we see 5 brushstrokes of ministry faithfulness from the character portrait of Timothy.
Let us learn and emulate the godly example of Timothy.
"A Prayer for Rescue: Preparing & Fighting Thru Spiritual Warfare!"
Pastor Geoff preaches on the story of the Rich Man and Lazarus. Two men. Two deaths. Two destinies. The rich man who lived comfortably in this life immediately went to hell at death. The poor man who had nothing in this life immediately went to heaven at death.
This sermon also provides 13 sobering realities about eternal hell that we need to understand.
This message surveys the prayer of Daniel when he was in exile. Daniel 9 is one of the most important chapters in all the Bible -- especially because of the prophecy of the "70 weeks" at the end (vv.24-27).
This sermon covers 3 simple lessons for us:
1. Study the Scriptures! (as Daniel studied Jeremiah!)
2. Respond in Prayer
3. Anticipate God's Answer
In preparation for communion, pastor Geoff preaches on Romans 4:5 and preaches on the gospel of Jesus Christ. He notes how all of us are ungodly sinners who have rebelled against God, how God is the One who justifies, and how the sinner who has saving faith in Christ receives full forgiveness and is clothed with the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Hear and apply this message from God's Word.
Geoff open-air preaches at the Central West End Metrolink station in St. Louis, MO. He preaches during the afternoon rush-hour period as the people run to their trains from work. Listen as he exposits Judges 2 & proclaims the glory of the gospel & salvation found only in Christ.
"A Prophecy of the Person, Work & Salvation of Jesus Christ!"
Pastor Geoff preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ from the Old Testament prophet of Micah. In Micah 5:2ff, Pastor Geoff preaches on the streets the glorious gospel of this prophecy given more than 600 years BEFORE Jesus came into the world:
The Prophecy of the Messiah
The Birth of the Messiah
The Authority of the Messiah
The Kingship of the Messiah
The Eternity of the Messiah
The Shepherd in the Messiah
The Peace from the Messiah
All this is derived from Micah 5:2ff. Come & believe in this God-Man, Jesus Christ, the Lord!
"A Prophet and a Prostitute--A Picturesque and an Historical Reality"
Pastor Geoff preaches the gospel at a Senior Living facility in St Louis, MO as he preaches Psalm 92 to the elderly and shows how even in old age men and woman can be like fruitful, prosperous, vibrant, strong trees.
Pastor Geoff preaches at the Senior Living Home in Ellisville, MO and preaches on the Tax Collector and the Pharisee and the parable Jesus tells of these two men going up to the Temple to pray.
One is the self-righteous man -- the Pharisee -- who praises himself all throughout his prayer. He dies in his futile self-exaltation and is humbled as he eternally goes to hell.
The other is the desperately humble man -- the tax-collector -- and he humbles himself and begs for God's mercy -- His propitiation -- so that he can be saved. He humbles himself and is exalted at death to enter heaven: all by God's grace!
"A Sermon for Children: Study God & Rejoice in His Character!"
Pastor Geoff preaches Philippians 4 and shows the children that they must study to know God and remember His great attributes, and then remember that this is THE very reason that they can always rejoice -- through any season and situation of life -- because God Himself never changes.
He is worthy of praise at all times.
"A Sermon for Children: True Happiness in Walking Closely With God!"
This sermon surveys all of Isaiah 6 -- God is HOLY HOLY HOLY.
1. SIGHT - Isaiah saw the LORD (1-4)
2. INSIGHT - Isaiah saw himself (5-7)
3. MISSION - Isaiah saw the need (8-12)
4. FAITH - Isaiah saw the hope (13b)
"A Simple Explanation/Defense of Street Preaching"
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through the psalms at the CFBC prayer meetings on Wednesday nights. This psalm models for us how to pray in serious pain. Remarkably, David shows that having a God-centered perspective (='let God be magnified') provides the proper perspective in times of hardship.
True it is that prayer is the medicine for the soul.
Pastor Geoff exhorts the men to have an exclusive, sole, singular love for their wives. Every husband must have no competitors who steal his love away from his wife. He must have an exclusive and singular love for his bride alone!
