Pastor Geoff teaches the CFBC men on the "future salvation & restoration of the Jewish people" -- from Romans 11:25-26, Zechariah 8, 12-13 and 14. He also looks at Ezekiel and Jeremiah also.
"Learn from Titus: O God: Give Us Manly & Holy Men of Integrity!"
Pastor Geoff preaches on th attribute of God that He is infinitely joyful in Himself -- within this Triune God He is perfectly satisfied and everlastingly happy. He calls us to find our joy -- our ultimate joy and happiness -- in Him!
Evangelism IS effective & it is WORTHWHILE and it is worth your time, sacrifice, comfort, energy and resources….
Ezekiel: Then you will know that I am the LORD (judgment Ezek 35 and hope Ezek 36)
**EVANGELISM DOES GLORIFY GOD…
as it FAITHFULLY DECLARES THE BIBLICAL GOSPEL.
as it WATERS THE SEED OF THE GOSPEL IN HEARTS OF GOD’S ELECT
as it BRINGS GOD’S ELECT TO SALVATION AS GOD REGENERATES & THEY REPENT & BELIEVE
as it HARDENS THE REPROBATE AND INCREASES THEIR SIN & CONDEMNATION
as it PROCLAIMS THE ‘NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES’ PUBLICLY
as it OBEYS THE CLEAR COMMAND TO ‘GO AND PROCLAIM REPENTANCE’ (Luke 24)
In this message, Pastor Geoff teaches class #2 in the biblical counseling course for men. Here we lay the foundation of BIBLICAL ANTHROPOLOGY -- a proper understanding of the person, of man, of the "Heart."
What's the problem? What went wrong? How do we understand the 'heart'? How do we seek to change?
Pastor Geoff preaches Eph 5:25 and calls all married men to the reality that their wife is the FIRST and FOREMOST ministry that they have in this earthly life. May the Lord help us to love our wives even as Jesus loved the Church.
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches part 4 of the "O Come Let Us Adore Him" Christmas Series. Here, he deals with the text of Herod killing the children in Bethlehem and the surrounding areas. This shows the enemies' hatred of Jesus.
Then we see Joseph leading his family back to Israel, to Galilee, to Nazareth! And we see the humiliation and lowliness of the God-Man who came to earth! What humility and lowliness! What a despised and rejected One this Man of Sorrows is!
"The Temptation of Jesus: See His Dependence on the Word of God!"
Pastor Geoff asks and answers the question: Where are the Old Testament saints now? With biblical support and with biblical clarity, he shows that all OT saints are currently in the immediate presence of God in heaven. One day, their spirits will be reunited with the resurrected body at the 2nd coming at the start of the MIllennial Kingdom.
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff exposits the passage where Joseph leads his family down to Egypt for safety from Herod the Great.
And Matthew Quotes Hosea 11:1 - "Out of Egypt I Called My Son." This sermon goes back and examines the Book of Hosea and looks at the covenant-love and sovereign power of God in bringing Israel out of Egypt of old and He brings His greater, Beloved Son out of Egypt to bring salvation to sinners!
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches Nehemiah 8:1-8 and gives many observations of the text as the exiles have returned from Babylon to their homeland of Israel. They've rebuilt the walls and now they've all gathered to hear the LAW OF GOD read from Ezra. They're all gathered together.
What can we learn? What can we glean? Why do we as a church encourage families to worship together? Why do we do what we do? Why is our philosophy such that we love to welcome and invite in young kids into corporate worship? What's the goal, purpose, motivation and prayer?
WHY encourage families to worship together? What's the benefit? What are the reasons?
Luke 18:16 - Permit the children to come to me, and do not hinder them…
6 GREAT ADVANTAGES to families worshiping together...
1. TEACHING (the Word of God; it is living & active & powerful! The Word brings salvation!)
2. BLESSING (in the means of grace) — they can participate
3. EXEMPLIFYING (they watch our example; they observe)
4. PROTECTING (they need to know worshiping God is something THEY can/must do)
5. SHEPHERDING (families a chance to build on this during the week with kids in family worship)
6. TRAINING (from early ages, when concrete is wet, to mold and shape them on HOW to worship God)
The Most Important Moment of Your Week: Hearing the Sermon. Luke 19:48 talks about everyone "hanging on to every word that Jesus preached." May we remember the importance of and the glory of hearing from God every week as the Word is faithfully preached!
