In this lecture, Linda Rice teaches the women of Christ Fellowship Bible Church on the topic of biblical counseling in the realm of depression. What is it? What does the Bible have to say about it? How do we help and counsel those who battle with depression?
Here is great help from the sufficient and clear Word of the living God -- the Bible!
"Astonishing Realities that Belong to You If You're 'In Christ'!"
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches Titus 1:10ff which fleshes out the reason "WHY" all elder/pastors must hold fast the faithful Word (in v.9). Why must all elders be above reproach and be competent in the Word of God?
Verses 10-16 give 7 urgent and indispensable reasons WHY all elders must be adequate and competent in the Word:
1. because of the abundance of the deceivers (10)
2. because of the danger of their teaching (11)
3. because of the motives of their heart (11-12)
4. because of the necessity of firm reproof (13)
Next time, we will look at Titus 1:14-16 on the other 3 reasons why godly men must be competent and holding fast the Word of God.

In this podcast, Pastor Geoff pleads for a biblical understanding of the doctrine of regeneration -- the new birth, a sovereign, powerful work of God -- from Ezekiel 11:19-20. A SSA (same sex attracted) person who professes to be a Christian needs to be instructed on the reality of regeneration -- it's not only a change of heart, it's a full change of one's nature. Regeneration is a complete, total work of God. It not only saves a soul from hell, but it changes the desires, the affections, the ambitions, the longings here and now. For someone to say I'm SSA and it's just my cross to bear or my lot in life is hopeless and it leads one to despair. But the glory of the new birth, biblically and exegetically, is that God changes the soul and He changes the nature. It's like a new Genesis-one-like 'new creation.' Radical transformation. So we must reject the notion that Christians can be SSA. We need to uphold, maintain and glory in the sovereign, powerful, soul-transforming and heart-transforming work of regeneration, the new birth.
"Duties of Elder/Pastors: Hold Fast the Word to Exhort Good Doctrine & Refute Error!"
in this study, ACBC biblical counselor, Linda Rice, teaches the women of Christ Fellowship Bible Church through the topic of women. How to take the sufficient Word of God and counsel our own hearts and the hearts of others in the (common) issue of sin.
Pastor Geoff preaches Ephesians 1:7-8 in this exposition through the Book and calls the church family to gaze upon the wonder and glory of REDEMPTION. Pastor Geoff provides 3 declarations that every child of God can make his own from the text:
1. I have REDEMPTION
2. I have FORGIVENESS
3. I've been given GRACE
If God has elected, predestined, loved, and adopted you (vv.3-6), then you CAN glory in these declarations and make them your own as you look to Christ and His all-sufficient redeeming work through His blood!
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff exposits word-by-word the text of Titus 1.8 -- the above reproach elder must meet the following qualifications.
We've seen that he must be ABOVE REPROACH in his HOME (marriage/purity and in his parenting/home life). And now he must be ABOVE REPROACH in his HEART (v.7 was the sins to avoid) and now in v.8 we see the virtues that he must possess.
2. loving what is good
6. self controlled
Listen as Pastor Geoff expounds each of these and pleads for God to raise up men of God in local churches who meet these requirements.
"Your Breathtaking Wonder! Accepted in the Beloved!"
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches on being 'accepted in the Beloved.' How can God accept sinners? How can we come to God? What must be done? What does it mean for God to freely give His grace and make us 'accepted' in the Beloved?
Pastor Geoff preaches a podcast on what "effective preaching is." We go for change in our preaching. What does God use the preaching to do? What changes?
Shemaiah the prophet said: “Thus says the LORD…” (2 Chron 12.5)
Jeremiah the prophet “spoke for the LORD (2 Chron 36:12)
We make it our commitment to preach for change...
Preaching that changes souls
Preaching that changes lives
Preaching that changes marriages
Preaching that changes churches
Preaching that changes evangelism
Preaching that changes societies
"A Pastor/Elder Must Be Above Reproach in His HEART: Sins to Avoid!"
In this sermon, Pastor Geoff preaches that every pastor/elder must be ABOVE REPROACH in the heart. Titus 1:7 deals with the SIN-VICES that the man of God MUST avoid. These must *not* describe the man of God who serves in ministry.
Pastor Geoff walks through Revelation 20 and the surrounding context to show why Revelation 20:1-6 must be interpreted normally as a literal kingdom where Christ will reign for one thousand years.
