Pastor Geoff preaches Isaiah 55 and pleads with hundreds of passers-by to repent of sin and follow Christ Jesus the Lord. God is calling sinners to come, buy, eat, and drink of the water of life for free -- without cost!
Salvation is free! Come and receive it by faith alone!
In this message, Pastor Geoff continues the study through prayer from Luke 11:
1. The PRIORITY of prayer (v.1)
2. The PATTERN of prayer (vv.2-4)
3. The PERSISTENCE of prayer (vv.5-8)
4. The PROMISES of prayer (vv.9-13)
This message deals with the great and large promises that God gives to us as His beloved children. We are invited to Ask! and Seek! and Knock! Let us pray with confidence and hold God to His Word!
Pastor Geoff preaches Psalm 128 which deals with family life and the joys thereof as the fear of God pervades the home.
In this psalm, God provides instructions for all people to fear God & to walk in His Ways, for the wife to make her abode and work in the home, and for the children to surround the table of the parents as they grow in grace, strength, vigor, and understanding of the fear of God.
Listen to the exposition of this text so that we can glorify Christ and have families that fear God & walk in His ways!
"The Persistence in Prayer -- Shameless Boldness in Coming Before God!"
Pastor Geoff preaches on the section in Luke 11 where Jesus teaches His followers to be importunate (persistent) in prayer. Like Jacob, we should wrestle with God until He blesses us. Like the Syro-Phoenecian woman, we must humbly bow and beg God till He listens and answers. Like Elijah, we should pray earnestly and expectantly till God fulfills His promises. Like blind Bartimaeus, we should cry out (and cry out louder) until the Lord stops, hears us, and answers our plea.
We must urgently come to God and press our longings upon His heart until He answers us! Let us not grow discouraged or fainthearted. But let us be a people who pray with persistence!
"Seeking the Blessing of God in the Building of Your Home"
Pastor Geoff continues the sermon series thru the Book of Psalms. Psalms 127 & 128 are twins as they deal with domestic issues.
Psalm 127 shows that the Godly home depends upon God and His blessing in all matters of life -- especially child-rearing.
Psalm 128 shows that the blessing of God falls upon the home that fears the LORD & walks in His ways.
Psalm 127 looks at the need to depend on God and especially the need to recover a biblical ATTITUDE toward children, biblical ACTIONS toward our children, and biblical INFLUENCE over our children.
Listen to this message & what it means that children are our "arrows".
"The Priority of Prayer, Part 2: Learning from the Pettern of Prayer from Our Savior"
Pastor Geoff concludes the 2-part series teaching on the 'Disciples' Prayer' from Luke 11:1-4 and shows what each phrase means and how we can learn from our Savior's pattern of prayer for us.
Let us enjoy God on earth as we commune with Him in prayer.
Pastor Geoff provides a piece of counsel to all pastors/elders: "Be often and intimate and communing with Christ." The greatest need of our people is our personal holiness! Commune with your Savior often!
Pastor Geoff gives counsel to the young children (say, ages 6-13) and calls them to: "never underestimate how God can use young boys and girls to serve Him mightily and powerfully and globally." Consider Joseph, Daniel, King Joash, King Josiah, and Jesus as a 12-year old boy in the Temple. Live for Jesus!
Pastor Geoff preaches Psalm 126 on the people of Israel and their shout of joy when God restored them back to the Promised Land after their 70 year captivity in Babylon. This is a hymn of joyful praise as God has done great things for them.
Yet, in their hardships, they earnestly seek God to restore them, to revive them, to reinvigorate them, to renew them.
Listen to this psalm and let us find hope to endure hard times in the present and future as we look to the past and remember God's wondrous faithfulness!
Pastor Geoff preaches the gospel at the Senior Living Home in St Louis, Missouri and calls the men and women to understand the coming judgment of God that will fall upon all unbelievers and he calls them to embrace Christ as Savior and Lord through faith alone so as to escape divine judgment and stand confidently in Christ!
"The Priority of Prayer: Principles to Guide You in Meeting with God in Prayer"
This is part 1 of looking at the "Disciples' Prayer". This message provides the background of prayer, the importance of prayer, a biblical survey of prayer, and the template/model of this prayer that Jesus gives in teaching us how to pray.
This message covers Luke 11:1-2.
"Why Is There Such An Emphasis on Preaching at CFBC?"
In this message, Pastor Geoff provides one of the great motivations to fervent prayer in our Christian lives -- because we have a great High Priest who, right now, at this moment, sits at the Father's right hand interceding for His own.
This message describes what it means for Christ to 'intercede' on behalf of His own.
May this encourage you to pray because you have a Priest who is currently praying for you & interceding on your behalf!
"The Power of Jesus Christ: The Surpassing Greatness of His Power Toward Believers!"
In this message, Pastor Geoff exhorts all singles to a life of undistracted devotion to the Lord Jesus Christ. Singles should use this God-given, blessed season of life for undistracted devotion to God and undiminished service to others.
This message looks at Anna and her example in Luke 2. What can we learn about 'single-hood' from Anna's example?
This message encourages singles to look & gaze upon the ultimate Bridegroom, the Lord Jesus Christ!
"The Propitiation of Jesus Christ: The Only Way for God to Forgive Sinners"
Pastor Geoff preaches this Advent sermon at Christ Fellowship & focuses on the crosswork of Jesus Christ — the propitiation of Christ. The heart of the gospel is here. This is the crux, the nucleus, the vital organs, the sun of theology & the gospel.
Why did Jesus have to die? What did God accomplish? This message works through this paragraph in Romans 3:21ff and shows the biblical gospel and what the cross really accomplished.
God vindicated His own righteous and just character by crushing and punishing sin upon His own Son, the Lord Jesus, at Calvary. Those who believe in Jesus Christ are declared -- reckoned -- by God to be righteous by virtue of the merit of Another, Jesus Christ.
Believers are saved BY God, FROM God, and FOR God. This sermon explains what that means.
