Psalm 93 begins the "Enthronement/Kingship Psalms" (Psalms 93-100) which lie at the very center of the Psalter. The theme of the entire book of Psalms is summed up in this motif of God being the Sovereign King.
Psalm 93 points out three marks of God's kingship.
Listen to this message & be comforted as you think on the absolute, unrivaled, supreme, and exclusive sovereignty of God.
"How the Humanity of Jesus Encourages Preachers of the Gospel"
In this message, Pastor Geoff continues the Family Bible Hour class on the "CFBC Distinctives". This message focuses on the majesty of God, the awful (=archaic English for dreadful, awe-inspiring, majestic, fearful) majesty of God.
Exodus 19-20 serve as the text of showing how holy, majestic, and powerful God is. We must elevate our thoughts, our mind, our heart, and our worship to God who rightly sits on heaven's throne.
Listen to this message.
"God's Grace With a Woman Caught in the Act of Adultery!"
Pastor Geoff open air preaches the gospel on Revelation 2 and on how the church will -- and must -- suffer. So Christ's message to God's people is: be faithful until death & you won't be hurt by the second death -- the Lake of Fire.
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through Luke's Gospel and here he focuses on Anna (2:36-38) — a propetess who served God until the age of 84, even as a widow. She worshiped with passion, with hunger, with prayer, with fastings, with evangelism.
She was a woman after God's own heart. This character, Anna, models not only for all women but for every senior saint (the 'aged') how to live in undistracted worship & undiminished praise in the elderly years.
In this psalm, Pastor Geoff shows that God is a safe protection for all His children. God is the Most High, the Almighty, the Rock, the Refuge, the Fortress, the One under whose wings a Christian can hide.
Listen to this preeminent psalm of comfort and reassurance.
"My Eyes Have Seen Your Salvation! Beholding the Face of the God-Man!"
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through Luke's gospel and teaches on "Simeon." Simeon was an elderly man waiting for the Messiah to appear. And when God providentially brought Simeon into the Temple to behold the newborn baby, the God-Man, Simeon praised God and gave a prophecy of the future life & work of Jesus. He would, in fact, be the dividing line so that many would receive Him for eternal life & many would reject Him for eternal death.
Pastor Geoff preaches on the active obedience of Jesus Christ as he submitted to the Father & obeyed the Law in 2 specific ways in this text:
1. He obeyed in His circumcision
2. He obeyed in His consecration
In the piety of His parents, the Lord Jesus obeyed the Law and fulfilled all righteousness. He was born under the Law to redeem those under the Law.
And all of His righteousness is credited to the believer's account through faith at the moment of salvation.
"Great Is Your Faithfulness! The Song of the Child of God Who Trusts in God!"
Psalm 89 explodes with praise & jubiliation because God is eternally faithful and loyally loving to His covenant that He made with David (2 Samuel 7). This ultimately finds fulfillment in Jesus Christ — and will be yet fulfilled when Christ returns in power & glory and rules in righteousness over Israel from Zion as the 'Lord our Righteousness'.
There are loads of hope and oceans of covenantal mercy contained in this psalm. Read it. Believe it. And hope in God's faithful love!
"Salvation is from the LORD! The Doctrines of Grace & the Wondrous Sovereignty of God!"
Pastor Geoff teaches on the Doctrines of Grace at Christ Fellowship Bible Church during the Family Bible Hour. In this study, he shows what the 5 doctrines of grace are and how ever believer must 'savor' them. In a word, theology must result in doxology!
"Stand Amazed at the Humble Birth of the Savior Who Came to Save Sinners! See His Lowliness!"
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through the Gospel of Luke and teaches on the birth of Christ in Bethlehem. He shows the humility, the lowliness, & the salvation in Jesus Christ, the God-Man.
