In this sermon, Pastor Geoff continues the verse-by-verse exposition through Psalm 119. This 8-verse stanza [the Hebrew 'vav' stanza] deals with salvation according to the Word of God as it comes from the lovingkindnesses of God.
And the following verses all show the effects that this salvation will have in the believer's life.
Listen to this message & be reminded that salvation in Christ, from God's love, through repentance & faith, produces necessary effects!
This message covers Revelation 16 -- the chapter that speaks to the seven bowl (vial) judgments that God will dispense near the end of the future, seven-year Tribulation period.
These are some of the most global, widespread, and devastating plagues that the world has ever seen!
It paves the way for the 2nd advent of Jesus Christ (Rev 19:11ff).
All those who repent and trust in Christ alone, however, are absolutely saved from the wrath of God (1 Thess 1:9-10; 1 Thess 5:9). Christ promises to keep His church out of the hour of trial that will come upon the world (Rev 3:10)!
Take comfort, be courageous & share the gospel with the lost!
In this lengthy account, John the Baptist battles with some doubts as to whether Jesus is in fact the "Expected One". Jesus gently, compassionately & biblically reminds John of who He really is (from texts in Isaiah) and reminds the people that John is the greatest of those born of women -- yet anyone born in the new era (under the New Covenant) have far more blessings and benefits that John enjoyed.
This message provides 7 ways for you to battle with doubt in your life.
Pastor Geoff preaches this unit of Psalm 119 -- the unit of 8 verses, vv.33-40 -- and shows how God's Word gives the sufficient guidance so we can know His will.
-what is God's will for my life?
-who should I marry?
-what job should I take?
-where should I live?
Many of the questions of life demand good answers. The Word provides the biblical framework -- the parameters, the boundaries -- so that we pray fervently, trust the Scripture & rely on the Spirit of God to live within those boundaries.
When we're doing that, we're free to choose the desires of our hearts.
Listen to this teaching from God's Word.
"The Song of the Redeemed & the Preparation for the 7 Bowl Judgments"
In this Revelation 15 message, Pastor Geoff shows how this chapter serves as the introduction to Revelation 16 -- the seven bowl judgments that God will dispense near the conclusion of the future-seven-year Tribulation period. This chapter, however, speaks of the Redeemed in heaven and how they are singing to & praising God (nearly all their phrases come directly from Old Testament scriptures).
Pastor Geoff continues the exposition through Luke. This account in Luke 7:11-17 shows how Jesus is in fact the true prophet of God as He raises a widow's son from the dead. By His spoken Word alone, Jesus Christ raises the dead -- he gives life to dead men by His grace & by His initiative.
This historical account also pictures the spiritual reality of regeneration.
This sermon provides 4 ways that we can go back in time and see and experience the events as they unfolded in the ancient city of Nain.
Pastor Geoff continues the verse-by-verse exposition through Psalm 119 and shows how this section addresses three of the ways that the Bible is often attacked today:
1) its CLARITY
2) its ADEQUACY
3) its COMFORT
In this stanza of 8 verses, the psalmist finds himself slandered, ridiculed, feeling alienated from this world & instead of sinking into despair (or, 'depression'), he soars in devotion.
This sermon provides 4 ways that you can soar in devotion to God's Word & not sink into despair/depression in the hard times.
"The Victory & Supremacy of Jesus Christ Over All Evil!"
In this chapter, Jesus Christ is presented as the supreme conqueror who triumphs over all evil. At the end of Revelation 12 (on the Dragon, Satan), and Revelation 13 (the AntiChrist & False Prophet), one may wonder if evil ultimately triumphs. But Revelation 14 provides the glorious answer that Jesus Christ will triumph in the end over all evil, over all His enemies!
In this chapter, the victory & supremacy of Jesus Christ is shown in three different scenes.
"Two Builders. Two Hearers. Two Destinies. Which Are You?"
In this closing message, Pastor Geoff preaches on the final, concluding part of the Sermon on the Mount -- when Christ presents two builders who build on very different foundations.
This sermon is all about how you 'listen to' and 'hear' the Word of God. Lots of people hear Christ's Words but few people 'do according to what they have heard.'
How do you hear Christ's Words? Do you come to Him, hear His Word, and act accordingly?
This final, concluding illustration in Christ's Sermon on the Mount needs to be heard by the professing church today. Scores of people hear Christ's Words, but there are masses that do not do what He says.
Let him who has an ear, listen to what Christ says.
