In this message, Pastor Geoff works through the gospel and focuses on a little, repetitive phrase through Ephesians 2:1-10 -- "in Christ." This doctrine of the 'union with Christ' that every believer has and enjoys is vital for every spiritual blessing & benefit we enjoy flows from this.
Listen to this message on the unchanging identity of every believer in Jesus Christ!
"Expository Preaching Class: Session 1: Preparing the Man!"
Pastor Geoff describes in this audio-blog the importance of having a biblical, reformed, robust view of anthropology and how this impacts biblical evangelism.
Mankind -- anthropology -- is dead in sin & cannot be shoved further from God nor can a man bring someone closer to God.
Sovereignty of God in salvation -- salvation is wholly & entirely of the Lord and for His glory.
Thus, when we do evangelism, we cannot tailor our "method" to try to make people more 'receptive' to the gospel -- since this will never happen. A nonbeliever is dead in sin & hostile to God and His gospel. It is only when the Spirit of God awakens a sinner by giving life that the sinner will come to trust in Christ & love Him. But this happens through the faithful proclamation and declaration of the good news of the gospel.
Therefore -- let us not try to evangelize to 'befriend' people or 'make people more receptive' to Christ. This shall never happen. Let us be full of love and speak urgent gospel truth to them and plead with them to repent and trust in Christ!
Pastor Geoff fills the pulpit at Providence Presbyterian Church (PCA) in Edwardsville, IL and proclaims the glorious reality that Jesus Christ, right now, by grace, intercedes (prays!) for His people continually!
What an amazing thought!
This message provides some axioms regarding the priestly -- intercessory -- work of Jesus Christ for His people!
All of this should motivate us to pray!
"The Duty of All Slaves: Go Out & Compel Sinners to Come to God's Feast!"
Pastor Geoff preaches the parable that Jesus tells while at a home of one of the rulers of the Pharisees (Luke 14:1ff). In this story that Jesus tells, a host provides a large, gracious, lavish banquet and calls those who were invited to come for everything is ready!
But they all -- alike -- begin to make excuses and they refuse to come! O the tragedy of wasted opportunity! O the many millions that now perish in hell because of excuses!
Christ tells His slave to go out and compel men to come in to the feast so that His house may be full!
This is our mission -- every Christian's mission! -- to go out to the lost and compel them to come in! We are to urge, press upon, plead with, and compel all sinners to come to Christ and to enter this most glorious banquet!
Let us obey our Savior's call & go out to the lost & plead with them to come to Christ!
"Father Forgive Them..." Jesus' Words from the Cross
Pastor Geoff proclaims the dire need for revival in our land. But it's not just for the pagans out there but the church of God needs to be revived. Revival begins with the people of God.
Pastor Geoff shows that from Psalm 80 revival comes to God's people and then through the powerful witness and relentless urgency of the believers, God uses His Word as it goes forth to bring revival across the land.
Let us pray for and earnestly plead God that He would bring a true-Spirit-given revival.
Pastor Geoff provides a word-study on the word "compel" in Luke 14:23 when the Master says to the slave: "go out into the highways and along the hedges, and COMPEL them to come in, so that my house may be filled."
What does it mean to "compel" people to be saved? What does this mean for you personally?
Pastor Geoff preaches on the story where Jesus has been invited into a home of a ruling Pharisee and it is in this context where Jesus rebukes:
1) the invited guests for seeking to take the places/seats of honor at the dinner feast.
2) the host himself for he invited only his friends (that could repay him!) and did not invite the poor, crippled, lame, blind, and outcasts.
This message and text deals with the sin of pride. And in this message, pastor Geoff concludes with 7 ways to practically wage war with your pride & replace it with humility.
In this audio-blog, Pastor Geoff completes a series of messages dealing with gender, identity, and marriage matters.
And in this final segment, he deals with salvation -- what it is, why it's needed, and how it is the nucleus of every segment of theology.
Christians must be armed with God's Word, knowledgeable of God's Gospel, and speaking the truth in love with our neighbors. We must proclaim Christ!
Listen to this podcast, know the gospel, trust in Christ alone, and speak the truth in love in a culture & in a generation where confusion abounds. Let Christ's truth thunder through the streets in our land!
Pastor Geoff teaches this audio-blog/podcast on the important & relevant topic of homosexuality -- or, 'same-sex marriage.'
Pastor Geoff shows what God says about marriage and how the Bible explicitly and undeniably calls homosexuality sin. Those who persist in such lifestyles will not go to heaven; but they will perish forevermore under God's just wrath.
But God extends grace and mercy to those who repent (turn from/forsake/abandon) their sinful ways and trust (believe, follow, obey) in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
Homosexuality is a sin that can be forgiven (just as other sins) because God's grace is such that it extends even to the worst of sinners and it is so sufficient that it can cover even the most vile and heinous of sins.
This audio blog speaks to the sinfulness of homosexuality and why it is sinful. Believers today must stand courageously on God's truth and not shy away from declaring God's Word regarding such issues in our society.
Come to Christ! Trust in Him! Flee from your wicked ways!
Pastor Geoff preaches Acts 9 on the conversion of Saul and how God called Ananias to go to Saul and to tell him God's message that: God had appointed him to 'bear God's Name' before kings, before Gentiles, and before the sons of Israel.
That was Paul's mission -- to BEAR GOD'S NAME before all men. And, of course, Saul would suffer greatly for it.
This sermon in the open air tells WHY we open air preach every week at the same spot. We bear God's Name before all men -- doctors, the homeless, nurses, students, visitors, etc. We want all to know of this Christ who died for sinners & rose for their justification! Repent & believe in the gospel today!
In this audio-blog, Pastor Geoff Kirkland teaches an introduction to the upcoming 7-part audio-blog series on: THE BIBLICAL TRUTH ABOUT GENDER & MARRIAGE.
This introductory message lays the foundation and presuppositions for the upcoming podcasts.
June is not LGBT Pride month. June is God's month. And Pastor Geoff explains how God is the authority and has every right, as God, to define and set the boundaries for gender, identity, roles, and marriage.
Listen to this audio-blog -- part 1 of the upcoming series on marriage & gender matters.

"Jesus' Compassionate Lament for a Nation That Has Rejected Him!"
In this message, Pastor Geoff preaches the text where Christ demonstrates courage & compassion.
God's sovereign plans cannot be thwarted or overcome by any opposition. And Christ Himself has such overwhelming compassion for the lost & laments the unwillingness of the people to come to Him -- who is so willing to receive sinners!
Pastor Geoff provides biblical counsel on "how to die well." We need to be people of God who die well in the Lord. And to die well, we must finish well. And to finish well, we must persevere and triumph in Christ.
This message provides biblical truths and historical anecdotes from Puritans who died well in the LORD.
Pastor Geoff preaches the gospel of Jesus Christ on the streets of St Louis, MO. In this open-air sermon, he preaches John 3.30 when the Baptist says: "He must increase; but I must decrease!"
In this message, Pastor Geoff proclaims that Jesus must increase because...
1. He is God
2. He is Man
3. He is Gracious
4. He is Savior
5. He is Atonement
6. He is Willing
Come to Christ today & live!
